In Need of a Neck Brace

I haven't blogged in a bit which is naughty. I've been advised to put up a blog for my erotic fiction, but that's not the only reason I haven't posted here. I've been spread too thin of late especially with my writing. Writing a new blog, writing posts for various romance and erotic mailing lists and writing press releases for my other publishing duties doesn't leave a lot of time or energy for mor writing. My current novel is suffering a bit because of this. I'm wearing a lot of hats for Sybaritic Press. And that doesn't count the array of headgear I wear for the production compnaies. I'm in need of a neckbrace and some sort of mood alteration.

I'm not complaining at this point about the time it takes to nurutre these business. There has been some advancements on both the publishing and film fronts. Each is moving into a higher level. The film business has brought us new partners and associates who are exciting and ambitious. Meshing with them has been fun and educational. I can't wait to work a shoort with them.

I do regret the toll all of these roles is taking on my writing. The Surrender novels had been a way for me to scratch my ficiton itch and relax. They had been a lot of fun to write. Now, finishing Price of Surrender has turned into more of a chore. I find a relatively uncluttered block of time and try to finish, but I'm well and so far, thoroughly blocked. I'm sure that it's because the novels had been a past time. It's hard to think of finishig it as important when I have to take calls from Prague or Zurich about our big budget gamble. Or I'm gently but firmly prodding all sides of the current film to keep the process on track and on schedule. There are a few amongst my film associates who think I need to choose between the novels and the movies. They posit that I can't split my focus and be effective in either realm. I don't know that they're wrong. I hope they aren't.

So this blog is essentially about being on both sides of the creative arts business which all of our authors will have to do from time to time. Ask Laura about the time and attention it takes to promote your title. You will all have to wear extra head gear. I suggest a crash helmet as one of them.
